"Hair exhibit + exploration of hair’s significance both culturally and personally...association between hair and power

— Emilie

"Seeing the faces of people impacted by WW2 and the Partition turned semi-3D through the crystals is such a moving effect. I always feel touched by photographs, but these sculptures feel so alive

"I am Mexican American, born and raised in California. The idea of seeing your homeland as an outsider, of having memories that are almost second hand, really struck me. Thank you

"Thank you for bringing to life, within myself, a deeper appreciation of the contributions of some groups of my fellow human beings that deserve respect and my admiration. I leave more empathetic and with a richer feel for humanity

"This is beautiful, yet hurts at the same time. As a Black American I understand when your stories are excluded from history. I’m so glad I got to experience the resting place of these soldiers.

— Maya

"Wonderful and frightening. Pays homage to unrecognized fighters against the Germans to their victory

— Julius Gall

"How did you make the holographic /3D pictures in the cubes? Please let me know @ premoli@apstudio.net

"Troubled by Ms Matthew’s use of photographs and phrases re Native Americans in a way which seems to suggest she sees an equivalency from her experiences to theirs, esp references to boarding schools and forced assimilation of native peoples. Disturbing, iMHO.

"Amazing tour with Cristin, who is always an wonderful presenter, and Annu Palakunnathu, the artist! What an honor and an unforgettable visit to the Newport Art Museum!
